Abigail II: The Revenge
Abigail II: The Revenge is King Diamond's tenth studio album, released on 29 January 2002 through Metal Blade Records. As the title suggests, it picks up the story of Abigail, the 1987 record that stands among the band's earlier concept albums, making it a narrative sequel rather than a simple follow-up. Travis Smith painted the cover.
It arrived after House of God in 2000 and ahead of The Puppet Master in 2003, and it brought some fresh faces into the band. Guitarist Mike Wead and drummer Matt Thompson made their debuts here, while bassist Hal Patino returned for the first time since The Eye. The liner notes reveal that the character Brandon Henry is modelled on the singer's friend Brandon J. Henry, who looks after his house while he is on tour. A good pick for anyone who loved the original tale and wants to hear where it went next.
