King Diamond

King Diamond are a Danish heavy metal band formed in 1985 by vocalist King Diamond, guitarists Andy LaRocque and Michael Denner, bassist Timi Hansen and drummer Mikkey Dee. Diamond, Denner and Hansen had just ended Mercyful Fate, and they carried on under the name Diamond had already used in that band's early days. Over the years more than fifteen musicians have passed through the line-up, with Diamond the only constant. LaRocque stayed until 2026.

Fatal Portrait arrived in 1986, and Abigail followed a year later as the band's first concept album. Most of their twelve studio records tell stories in that way. "Them", Conspiracy and The Eye completed the first run before a hiatus around 1992, when Mercyful Fate returned. The band came back in 1994 and ran alongside Mercyful Fate for nearly a decade. Abigail, "Them", Fatal Portrait and Conspiracy remain the best-known records. The most recent studio album is 2007's Give Me Your Soul… Please.
