The Graveyard
The Graveyard is King Diamond's seventh studio album, released on 20 September 1996. It followed The Spider's Lullabye from 1995 and came before Voodoo in 1998, so it sits in the middle of the band's run through the 1990s. It was also the last album to feature drummer Darrin Anthony.
The record did well in Finland, where it reached No. 23 and spent two weeks in the Top 40, making it one of the more successful releases in the Danish band's catalogue. Andy LaRocque remastered it for a reissue in 2009, which gives newer listeners a cleaner way in. If you like your heavy metal theatrical and steeped in gothic atmosphere, this is a worthwhile stop in the King Diamond story.
