Album
The Wretched Spawn
The Wretched Spawn is the ninth studio album by American death metal band Cannibal Corpse, released on 24 February 2004 through Metal Blade Records. It follows Gore Obsessed from 2002 and takes its name from one of its own tracks, as Butchered at Birth, The Bleeding and Gallery of Suicide did before it. Vincent Locke supplied the cover art.
It marks the end of an era for the band's line-up, as the last studio album with guitarist Jack Owen, one of the founding members. It was also the last of their records, up to Torture in 2012, to carry a cover depicting violence and gore. The release came with a making-of DVD produced by Nick Sahakian, which makes it a good pick for fans who like to see how these records are put together.
