Recoiled
Recoiled is a remix EP pairing Coil with Nine Inch Nails, gathering the British duo's unreleased work from their remix sessions for Fixed, Closer to God and Further Down the Spiral. It came out on Cold Spring in February 2014, after the deaths of Coil's original members, Peter Christopherson and John Balance. Danny Hyde, a former Coil engineer, licensed the material to the label.
The four tracks rework "Gave Up" from Broken, plus "Closer", "The Downward Spiral" and "Eraser" from The Downward Spiral. Most are variations on remixes already released. The EP grew out of "Uncoiled", a fan-made digital collection shared free online. This version adds extra mastering and an "Eraser" remix that the fan edition lacked, making it a neat companion to Trent Reznor's mid-1990s run.
