Finyl Vinyl
Finyl Vinyl is a Rainbow release that gathers live recordings made between 1978 and 1984, alongside three studio B-sides. It came out on Polydor on 24 February 1986, two years after the band had split in 1984.
It works as a farewell to a group whose studio run began with Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow in 1975 and continued through to Bent Out of Shape in 1983. Because the live material covers the later part of that story, from the Long Live Rock 'n' Roll era to the final tours, it lets you hear how the band sounded on stage across several line-ups and albums. The B-sides add a little extra for anyone who has followed the group closely and wants the odd rarity.
