Stranger in Us All, released in September 1995 on RCA, is the eighth and last studio album by Rainbow. It arrived twelve years after the band's previous record. Ritchie Blackmore had planned it as a solo project, but pressure from BMG saw it issued under the Rainbow banner. He built a fresh line-up around himself: vocalist Doogie White, bassist Greg Smith, keyboardist Paul Morris and drummer John O'Reilly, none of whom were well known at the time.

It landed in the middle of the post-grunge years, and it did not match the acclaim or sales of earlier Rainbow albums. It was also not heavily promoted, though it did find a modest audience, particularly in Europe and Japan. The title comes from a line in "Black Masquerade". Blackmore then turned to different music with Blackmore's Night, alongside Candice Night, so this was his last rock recording for two decades, until Rainbow returned in 2016. It is worth hearing as the closing chapter of the band's original run.
