Live in Munich 1977
Live in Munich 1977 captures Rainbow on stage in Munich on 20 October 1977, in a show originally filmed for the West German TV programme Rockpalast. Repeated broadcasts spread the concert on bootleg video and audio tapes through the 1980s and 1990s, so this 2006 release, issued as a live album and DVD, gave fans an official version of a show many already knew. The release date is 2006.
It comes from a different tour to the earlier live album On Stage, which drew mostly on the 1976 Japanese dates. This is the 1977 European run, a few months before Long Live Rock 'n' Roll appeared, with a different keyboardist and bassist in the line-up. The DVD adds the three promotional videos for that album, plus interviews with Bob Daisley and former tour manager Colin Hart. A 2013 reissue restored the edits made to the original CD, bringing it closer to the full concert.
