Deutschland Tournee 1976
Deutschland Tournee 1976 is a live box set from Rainbow, released on 24 May 2006 by Purple Records. It gathers three concerts from the band's 1976 tour of West Germany: Cologne on 25 September, Düsseldorf on 27 September and Nürnberg on 28 September. Six discs in all, it was issued as a complete set only in Japan.
It comes from the period when Rainbow had just released Rising, their second studio album, so it catches the band in the thick of that year's touring. Elsewhere in Europe, each show appeared on its own as a double CD in a jewel case, with the same track listings and timings. The shows open with "Over the Rainbow", the spoken Wizard of Oz line about not being in Kansas anymore, which sets the scene before the band begins. For fans who like to compare nights, three shows from one short run make an interesting study.
