On Stage is Rainbow's double live album, recorded across several dates in Germany and Japan in late 1976 during the world tour for Rising. It came out on 7 July 1977 on Polydor, with the US getting it first and the UK and Europe following a little later.

It sits between Rising and Long Live Rock 'n' Roll in the band's run of records, and it captures Rainbow on the road at a point when they were fresh from one of their strongest studio releases. If you know the band mainly through their studio work, this is the place to hear how the songs behaved on stage. It suits anyone who likes their hard rock and heavy metal played live and at full stretch.
