Album
Leave Home
Leave Home is the second album by the American punk band Ramones, released on 10 January 1977 through Sire Records. It followed their debut and, according to reviewers at the time, stayed close to its template. Critics found it less groundbreaking, but they also found plenty to enjoy in its humour. It reached 148 on the Billboard 200, which fell short of what the band had hoped for. Three singles were issued, though only one made the charts.
The songs range more widely than you might expect. Some lean towards pop, while "Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment" and "Pinhead" bring heavier, distorted guitars and a harder punk edge. One track, "Carbona Not Glue", was pulled over a possible trademark problem. In the UK, "Babysitter" took its place, and in the US it was "Sheena Is a Punk Rocker". The back cover artwork, designed by Arturo Vega, later became the band's logo.
