Acid Eaters
Acid Eaters is the thirteenth studio album by the Ramones, released on 1 December 1993 on Chrysalis. It stands apart in their catalogue as the only record made up entirely of cover versions. Rather than reworking their own formula, the band turn to the 1960s music they loved, paying tribute to the artists who shaped them.
The song choices run from garage rock acts such as the Seeds and the Amboy Dukes to bigger names like the Beach Boys, the Who and the Rolling Stones, all of whom get a turn. It arrived late in the band's career, between Mondo Bizarro and ¡Adios Amigos!, and it's a good way to hear where their sound came from, with those sixties influences played the Ramones way.
