Crank
Crank is the fourth studio album by the Scottish rock band the Almighty, released on 21 September 1994 on Chrysalis. It followed Powertrippin' from 1993 and came before Just Add Life in 1996. Two singles, "Jonestown Mind" and "Wrench", were issued in the UK in several parts, and both got music videos. The album reached No. 15 on the UK albums chart.
The sleeve is worth a look in its own right. It shows an angel hurling a Molotov cocktail at a planet made of money, painted by the British artist and anarchist Jamie Reid, the man behind the ransom-note cover of the Sex Pistols' Never Mind the Bollocks. Andy Cairns, frontman of Therapy?, adds vocals to several tracks. A Japanese-only remaster later gathered the studio B-sides from the album's singles.
