Deliverance
Deliverance is the fourth album by Corrosion of Conformity, released on 27 September 1994. It was the band's first record for Columbia and the first on which Pepper Keenan took over as lead singer, a notable shift after the hardcore-rooted early albums such as Eye for an Eye and Animosity, and the follow-up to 1991's Blind.
It has had a long afterlife. Kerrang! called it a "true 90s classic", and Rolling Stone placed it at number 31 on its 2014 list of the best rock albums of 1994. "Mano de Mono" turns up in the film The Fan, while "Albatross" is playable in Guitar Hero: Metallica and Guitar Hero Live. The RIAA certified it gold in 2023 for sales of more than 500,000 copies in the United States, which says plenty about its staying power.
