Blind
Blind is the third studio album by North Carolina's Corrosion of Conformity, released on 5 November 1991 through Relativity Records. It arrived six years after Animosity, and it marks a clear change of direction: the band set aside the crossover thrash of their 1980s records in favour of a more straightforward metal sound, with groove and sludge in the mix.
It is a record of firsts and one-offs for the line-up. Pepper Keenan joined on rhythm guitar, Karl Agell sang on what remains his only album with the band, and Phil Swisher played bass in place of founder Mike Dean, making this his sole C.O.C. recording. A 1995 reissue on Columbia added three extra songs and a remaster by Bob Ludwig. For anyone tracing how the band moved from hardcore roots towards the heavier, groovier sound of Deliverance, this is the missing link.
