Animosity
Animosity is the second studio album by American band Corrosion of Conformity, released on 25 October 1985 through Death Records. It followed their debut, Eye for an Eye, from 1984, and sits early in a career that would run through Blind in 1991 and Deliverance in 1994 and on to the band's later records.
The record is tagged as crossover thrash, a blend of metal with hardcore punk and punk, which makes it a good place to hear the band at the point where those worlds meet. The cover art is by Pushead, an artist whose name will be familiar to anyone who spent time with the punk and metal scenes of the era. For listeners who know the group mainly from their later work, it offers a look at where they began.
