IX

IX is the ninth studio album from Corrosion of Conformity, the American heavy metal band whose recorded history stretches back to 1984's Eye for an Eye. It came out on 24 June 2014 through Candlelight Records, and its sound falls under stoner rock.

The record follows the band's self-titled album of 2012 and precedes No Cross No Crown, which arrived in 2018. That places it in the later part of a career that also includes Animosity in 1985, Blind in 1991 and Deliverance in 1994. If you have followed the band through those earlier chapters, IX is the album that connects their 2012 return to what came next, and it is worth hearing for how it keeps them rooted in stoner rock.
