Album
Once More ’Round the Sun
Once More 'Round the Sun is the sixth studio album by the American band Mastodon, released on 24 June 2014 through Reprise Records. It follows The Hunter from 2011 and sits in the middle of a run of records that stretches from Remission in 2002 to Emperor of Sand in 2017 and beyond. The sound sits between progressive metal and heavy metal, and "High Road" was the first single, arriving in April 2014.
The album did well on the other side of the Atlantic, too. It sold around 34,000 copies in its first week in the United States and entered the Billboard 200 at No. 6, the highest placing of any Mastodon record on that chart. It also gave the band a second Top 10 debut in a row, after The Hunter reached No. 10. For anyone tracing how Mastodon moved from cult favourites to chart regulars, this is a key stop.
