March of the Fire Ants EP

Popularity23.2

March of the Fire Ants is a promotional EP from American heavy metal band Mastodon, released on 18 November 2003 through Relapse Records. It takes its name from the song that opens the second slot on the band's debut studio album, Remission, which came out in 2002.

The EP arrived between that first record and Leviathan in 2004, so it sits in the early stretch of Mastodon's career, when the band were still establishing themselves. It is a small piece of that story, and a useful one for anyone tracing how they moved from Remission to the albums that followed.
