Album
Remission
Remission is the debut album from American band Mastodon, released on 28 May 2002 through Relapse Records. It opens a run of studio records that would carry the band from sludge metal into more progressive territory, and you can hear both sides of that story taking shape here.
The album was given a deluxe edition on 21 October 2003, and in 2014 it came back as a reissue on digital and CD, with improved sound quality and a booklet of new images. If you know Mastodon from later records like Leviathan or Crack the Skye, this is the place to go back to and hear where it all began.
