The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here
The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here is the fifth studio album by Alice in Chains, released on 28 May 2013 (24 May in the UK and Europe). It follows Black Gives Way to Blue (2009) and came after a worldwide tour for that record. Sessions began in July 2011 and ran until December 2012, with Jerry Cantrell's shoulder surgery among the reasons the release slipped more than once. It was the band's last album through Capitol Records.
The record reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and topped the Top Rock Albums chart. "Hollow" and "Stone" both went to No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, with "Voices" reaching No. 3. It earned a Grammy nomination for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, and Loudwire placed it fourth in its 2019 list of the decade's best rock albums. The band also promoted it with a mockumentary, AIC 23.
