Vivus!
Vivus! gathers two live recordings of Death, both made in 1998, onto a single release from Relapse Records. The first disc captures the band at the Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles and was previously issued as Live in L.A. (Death & Raw). The second was recorded on the festival stage at Dynamo Open Air and first appeared as Live in Eindhoven. It came out on 28 February 2012.
Both shows come from the period around The Sound of Perseverance, the last studio album in the band's run from Scream Bloody Gore in 1987. Having a club night in California alongside a big open-air festival set makes for a handy pairing, and it lets you hear how the band handled two very different rooms on the same tour year.
