Album
La futura
La Futura is the fifteenth studio album by ZZ Top, released on 10 September 2012 on American Recordings. It arrived nine years after Mescalero, the longest gap between records in the Texas trio's run of studio albums, and it found them still working in the blues rock groove that had defined them since their 1971 debut.
It reached number 5 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart, and it stands as the last studio album the band made with bassist Dusty Hill and drummer Frank Beard, who died in 2021 and 2026 respectively. For anyone who loved the band from Eliminator onwards, it is a chance to hear the original line-up one final time on a full new record.
