Tres hombres
Tres Hombres is the third studio album by ZZ Top, released on 26 July 1973 on London Records. The title is Spanish for "three men", and it began a habit of Spanish wording in the band's album branding that would continue on later records. It was also their first time working with engineer Terry Manning.
Coming after ZZ Top's First Album and Rio Grande Mud, this is the record that broke the band in the United States. It climbed to number 8 on the Billboard 200 in 1974, and lead single "La Grange" reached number 41 on the Hot 100. Blues rock, boogie and hard rock all sit comfortably in its sound, which makes it a fine place to hear the band before the fame of the 1980s arrived.
