Greatest Hits
Greatest Hits is a compilation from the American rock band ZZ Top, released by Warner Bros. Records on 14 April 1992. It gathers material from a career that had by then stretched across more than two decades, with studio albums running from ZZ Top's First Album in 1971 through to Recycler in 1990.
For anyone coming to the band fresh, it offers a handy overview of a sound that blends blues rock, boogie, hard rock and southern rock with a pop-rock sheen. It arrived between Recycler and Antenna, so it works as a pause for breath in the band's story, and a good place to hear how the Texas trio moved from gritty blues-based beginnings to the more polished records of the 1980s.
