Album
Long Live Rock ’n’ Roll
Long Live Rock 'n' Roll is the third studio album by British heavy metal band Rainbow, released on 14 April 1978 on Polydor. It follows Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow from 1975 and Rising from 1976, and it sits squarely in the hard rock and heavy metal mould that the band had made their own over those first two records.
It is also the last Rainbow album to feature Ronnie James Dio, their original lead vocalist. That gives it a particular place in the band's story, as the final chapter of the opening era before Down to Earth arrived in 1979 and the group moved in a different direction. If you want to hear where that first line-up's journey ended, this is the record to put on.
