Live in Germany 1976
Live in Germany 1976 is a concert album by Rainbow, released on 5 November 1990 through Connoisseur Collection. Its tracks are drawn from four West German shows on the band's world tour in September 1976: Cologne on the 25th, Düsseldorf on the 27th, Nuremberg on the 28th and Munich on the 29th. The selection mixes performances from across those nights rather than presenting a single gig.
It arrives from the stretch of Rainbow's career that followed Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow and Rising, both released in 1975 and 1976 respectively, so it catches the band on the road in the year of Rising. Two years later it was reissued in the USA as Live in Europe on a different label, with the same content but different sleeve notes. Fans who want more can turn to the 2006 box set Deutschland Tournee 1976, which presents three of the four concerts in remixed form.
