Deep Purple Mk III: The Final Concerts
Deep Purple Mk III: The Final Concerts, also issued as Archive Alive, is a double live album released on 5 August 1996. It was drawn from the band's 1975 European tour in support of Stormbringer, and it captures the last performances of the Mk III line-up with Ritchie Blackmore before he left to form Rainbow with singer Ronnie James Dio.
Most of the material comes from the final night of the tour at the Palais des Sports in Paris on 7 April 1975, with a few tracks taken from two shows in Graz, Austria, on 3 and 4 April. It arrived on Connoisseur Collection in the same year as Purpendicular, and it is worth hearing as a document of a hard rock band at a turning point, recorded just as one chapter of its story was ending.
