Album
The House of Blue Light
The House of Blue Light is Deep Purple's twelfth studio album, released on 12 January 1987 through Polydor. It followed Perfect Strangers from 1984, the record that brought the band back together, and it was the second outing for the reformed Mark II line-up. Counting their earlier run, it was the sixth studio album from that particular group of players.
Sitting between the comeback of 1984 and Slaves and Masters in 1990, it shows the band settling back into life together as a hard rock and heavy metal act, with a little rhythm and blues in the mix. If you want to hear how the Mark II formation carried on after its reunion, this is the album that picks up the story.
