EP
The Bird Has Flown
The Bird Has Flown is an EP by Deep Purple, released in 1970 on Capitol Records. It is a rock record, and it appeared in the same year as Deep Purple in Rock, the album that followed their self-titled 1969 release.
It sits in the early part of the band's long story, after the run of Shades of Deep Purple and The Book of Taliesyn in 1968, and before the albums that would carry them through the 1970s, such as Fireball and Machine Head. For anyone tracing how the group moved from their first records into that period, it is a small but interesting stop along the way.
