Album
Rapture of the Deep
Rapture of the Deep is Deep Purple's 18th studio album, released in October 2005. It followed Bananas from 2003 and was produced by Michael Bradford, who had also worked on that record, so the band kept the same hand at the desk between the two.
It is the fourth studio album since guitarist Steve Morse joined in 1994, and the second with keyboardist Don Airey, who by now had a record's worth of experience in the line-up. For anyone following the band's long second act, it shows a settled group carrying on in a hard rock vein well into its fourth decade, and it makes a good companion to Bananas and the albums around it.
