Greatest Hits is blink-182's first compilation, released on 31 October 2005 by Geffen. It appeared shortly after the band's split in February 2005, which the label called an "indefinite hiatus". Tom DeLonge wanted time away, and arguments with Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker over the group's future and a possible next album ended with his exit. Hoppus and Barker carried on in +44, while DeLonge formed Angels & Airwaves.

The collection runs from Cheshire Cat in 1995 to the self-titled album of 2003, taking in "Dammit", "What's My Age Again?", "All the Small Things", "The Rock Show", "First Date", "Feeling This" and "I Miss You". There is also a new song, "Not Now", which was recorded during the self-titled sessions and became the lead single, plus a cover of the Only Ones' "Another Girl, Another Planet". It reached number six on the Billboard 200, and a companion DVD gathered the band's videos.
