Keeper of the Seven Keys: The Legacy
Keeper of the Seven Keys: The Legacy is Helloween's eleventh studio album, released on 28 October 2005 through Steamhammer. It picks up the story of the band's 1987 and 1988 Keeper records and is the first to feature drummer Dani Löble, who is still with them. Charlie Bauerfeind, whose credits include Blind Guardian, Halford and Rage, produced it.
It is a big undertaking: a double CD running to nearly 80 minutes, in a digipack with six flaps. Opener "The King for a 1000 Years" is the longest song the band have released, and Blackmore's Night singer Candice Night guests on "Light The Universe". Bassist Markus Grosskopf has said the aim was to make something new rather than copy the old material. Fans will enjoy the intro to "Occasion Avenue", which weaves in samples of Michael Kiske singing, including an unreleased live "Keys" with the crowd joining in.
