Violent Revolution
Violent Revolution is the tenth studio album by the German thrash metal band Kreator, released in September 2001 on Steamhammer. It was the first record to feature lead guitarist Sami Yli-Sirniö, a change in line-up that arrived alongside a change of direction.
For almost a decade, beginning with Renewal in 1992, Kreator had been experimenting with their metal sound. Here they turned back to the thrash style of their 1980s work. The album is now regarded as the spark for the thrash metal revival of the early 2000s, which makes it a good place to start if you want to hear how that comeback began. It also sets the course for the records that followed, starting with Enemy of God in 2005.
