Endorama
Endorama is Kreator's ninth studio album, released in April 1999. The German thrash band had already spent the 1990s moving away from the full-throttle assault of their 1980s records, and here the gothic metal influences come through more strongly than on any other album in their catalogue. Lacrimosa frontman Tilo Wolff guests on the title song, adding a darker, more theatrical voice to the mix.
It sits between Outcast and Violent Revolution, and it marks the end of an era in the line-up: this is the last Kreator album to feature guitarist Tommy Vetterli. Sami Yli-Sirniö, who remains in the band today, took his place shortly before the next record was made. For anyone tracing how Kreator changed shape before their return to a harder sound, Endorama is the record to hear.
