Outcast
Outcast is Kreator's eighth studio album, released on 22 July 1997. It followed Cause for Conflict and came before Endorama in the German band's run of records. The group moved well away from the thrash of their earlier years here, bringing in gothic and industrial influences and keeping very little of the old sound.
The line-up shifted too. Jürgen "Ventor" Reil returned on drums for the first time since Renewal in 1992, and Tommy Vetterli, formerly of Coroner, made his first appearance on guitar. It is worth hearing for anyone curious about how far Kreator were prepared to stray from their roots, and it sits among the band's most experimental turns.
