Strays

Strays is the third studio album by Jane's Addiction, released on 22 July 2003 on Capitol Records. It arrived 13 years after Ritual de lo Habitual, the longest gap the band has had between full studio records, though they had put out two new songs on the 1997 compilation Kettle Whistle. It is also the first Jane's album to feature bassist Chris Chaney.

By this point the group had already completed two reunion tours playing old material, and drummer Stephen Perkins said they were ready for "a new challenge." The record met with a warm reception: it entered the Billboard 200 at number four, selling 110,500 copies in its first week in the United States, and went on to earn Gold certification in the US and Canada and silver in the UK. The single "Just Because" received a Grammy nomination in 2004, making this a fine place to hear the band's return.
