Jane’s Addiction
Jane's Addiction is the band's debut album, and it arrived as a live record rather than a studio one. Released on 15 May 1987 through Triple X Records, it was built from basic tracks captured at the Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles, with overdubs and corrections added afterwards at The Edge Studio, also in Los Angeles.
It sits at the very start of the band's story, ahead of the studio albums Nothing's Shocking in 1988 and Ritual de lo habitual in 1990. Fans of alternative rock and alternative metal will find it a useful look at the group before those records, caught on stage in their home city and sounding very much a Los Angeles band.
