Album
Nothing’s Shocking
Nothing's Shocking is the first studio album by the American band Jane's Addiction, released on 23 August 1988 through Warner Bros. Records. It followed their self-titled live debut, so this was the moment the band made its mark in the studio, blending alternative rock with a harder, metal-tinged edge.
The album peaked at number 103 on the Billboard 200 and went on to earn platinum certification from the RIAA. "Jane Says" reached number six on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart in 1988, and the record was nominated for a Grammy for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance, losing to Jethro Tull. Both the cover and the video for "Mountain Song" were censored. Critics have since placed it among the most important alternative rock albums, and Rolling Stone ranks it at number 312 on its 500 Greatest Albums list.
