Curb

Curb is the debut studio album by Canadian rock band Nickelback, released on 15 May 1996. It was recorded at Turtle Recording Studios in Richmond, British Columbia, with producer Larry Anschell, and first came out only in Canada through FACTOR. Much of the material goes back to 1993. Chad Kroeger wrote most of it, though all four members share the credits. Two songs from the earlier EP Hesher, "Where?" and "Left", were re-recorded, while "Fly" and "Window Shopper" were remixed and remastered.

The sound sits in grunge and post-grunge territory, with an alternative metal edge. Kroeger later called it "raw", with "a lot of good songs". "Fly" was the only single. After the band joined Roadrunner Records, Curb was remastered and issued internationally in 2002, reaching number 182 on the US Billboard 200. That edition has drawn criticism for reduced dynamic range and clipping, so it's worth tracking down the original mix.
