Album
United Abominations
United Abominations is Megadeth's eleventh studio album, released on 15 May 2007 and their first through Roadrunner Records. Dave Mustaine was the only returning member, surrounded by a brand-new line-up. That made it the first record since The World Needs a Hero in 2001 made by a full-time band, after The System Has Failed in 2004 relied on session players.
The songs take on politics and the state of the world, and IGN's Ed Thompson called it the band's most politically charged record. It entered the Billboard 200 at number eight, their best showing since Youthanasia in 1994. AllMusic's Greg Prato said Megadeth "sound reborn", and Guitar World named it the top metal album of 2007. Guitarist Glen Drover left during the touring, so this is the only Megadeth studio album he played on.
