Endgame is Megadeth's twelfth studio album, produced by Andy Sneap and Dave Mustaine and released in September 2009. It was the first record to feature guitarist Chris Broderick, who arrived after Glen Drover left in 2008, and it followed 2007's United Abominations. It was also the last album with bassist James LoMenzo for many years, as original bassist David Ellefson returned a few months after its release.

The eleven tracks draw on a wide range of subjects, from The Lord of the Rings and the 2008 financial crash to insanity, torture and crime. "Head Crusher" earned a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance, and the album reached number nine on the Billboard 200 and topped the US Hard Rock Albums chart. Critics were warm, and it won Best Thrash Metal Album at the Metal Storm Awards. A strong pick for fans of Megadeth's thrash side.
