The Antichrist
The Antichrist is the seventh album by German thrash metal band Destruction, released in September 2001 on Nuclear Blast. It arrived just a year after All Hell Breaks Loose, the record that followed the band's late-1990s return with The Least Successful Human Cannonball.
Within the Destruction story, it sits at the start of a busy second chapter, coming before Metal Discharge in 2003 and Inventor of Evil in 2005. Anyone who knows the band mainly through their 1980s albums, from Infernal Overkill to Cracked Brain, will find it a useful way into the thrash the Germans were making at the turn of the millennium.
