Album
Release From Agony
Release From Agony is the third studio album by German thrash metal band Destruction, released on 1 December 1987 through Steamhammer. It followed Infernal Overkill (1985) and Eternal Devastation (1986), and it arrived in North America in 1988 via Profile and Rock Hotel Records.
This was the first Destruction record made as a four-piece, which marks a change from the trio that came before. It was also the last studio album to feature Marcel "Schmier" Schirmer on bass and lead vocals until he returned to the band in 1999. That makes it the closing chapter of the first Destruction line-up era, and a useful one to hear if you want to follow how the band's story unfolded in the late 1980s.
