Live... In the Raw
Live... In the Raw is W.A.S.P.'s first live album and the fourth record in their catalogue, released on 27 November 1987 through Capitol Records. It arrived after the band's first three studio albums and works as a bridge between that earlier, rawer incarnation of W.A.S.P. and the more mature sound that marked the releases to follow.
It isn't purely a concert document. "The Manimal" and "Harder Faster" were written specially for it, the latter being the band's response to the PMRC labelling them "sexual perverts". "Scream Until You Like It", recorded for the film Ghoulies II, is also a studio track, as is the acoustic version of "Sleeping (In the Fire)". It was also the last release to feature drummer Steve Riley, who left shortly after the tour ended to join L.A. Guns, so it captures a line-up on the point of changing.
