The Neon God, Part 1: The Rise is the eleventh studio album from American heavy metal band W.A.S.P., released in April 2004 on Noise Records. It opens a two-part rock opera, and the songs follow Jesse, an abused and orphaned boy who discovers he can read and manipulate other people.

It arrived after Dying for the World in 2002 and sits in the band's catalogue as the first half of a larger story, with The Neon God, Part 2: The Demise completing it the same year. W.A.S.P. had tackled a concept record before with The Crimson Idol in 1992, so this is a return to storytelling on a grand scale. If you enjoy albums that hang together as a narrative, this is the place to start, and it is best heard with its companion close at hand.
