Prophecy
Prophecy is the fourth studio album by Soulfly, the heavy metal band led by Max Cavalera, and it arrived on Roadrunner Records on 30 March 2004. It followed 3 and came just ahead of Dark Ages, so it sits in the middle of the group's run of records through the 2000s.
Much of its character comes from change. Cavalera is the only remaining member from the previous line-up, so the band around him was entirely new. The album also takes in world music influences picked up during time he spent in Serbia, and it leans openly into spiritual themes. Three guest artists add further colour. If you want to hear Soulfly stretching beyond straight-ahead groove metal, this is a good place to start. It has sold over 275,000 copies.
