Album
Semi‐Detached
Semi-Detached is the fourth major-label album from Therapy?, released on 30 March 1998 on A&M Records. It turned out to be their last record for the label. It was made at several studios through 1997, among them Chipping Norton in Oxford, Homestead in Randalstown, Moles in Bath and Metropolis in London. It reached number 21 in the UK Albums Chart, though it was not released in the USA.
The record matters in the band's story as the first Therapy? album made with Graham Hopkins and Martin McCarrick as full-time members, so it captures a new line-up finding its feet. Its cover nods to Samuel Beckett's play Happy Days, a fitting touch for a band whose songs often draw on his writing. It first came out on CD and cassette, plus a limited-edition box set of six 7" singles, and a remaster appeared in The Gemil Box in 2013.
