La Sexorcisto: Devil Music, Vol. 1
La Sexorcisto: Devil Music, Vol. 1 is the third studio album by American band White Zombie, released in March 1992 on Geffen. It arrived after Make Them Die Slowly, which had been an artistic disappointment, and it set the band on a new path. With guitarist Jay Noel Yuenger on board, they finally nailed the metal sound they had been chasing since 1989, adding a groove-driven swing as they moved away from their punk and noise rock beginnings. It was also the last record to feature drummer Ivan de Prume.
The payoff was considerable. This became White Zombie's first album to reach the Billboard 200, peaking at number 26 in 1993, and it has since gone two times platinum in the US. "Thunder Kiss '65" and "Black Sunshine" were fixtures on rock radio and MTV, and the former earned the band their first Grammy nomination, for Best Metal Performance. It is the place to start with the band.
