Wood & Wire
Wood & Wire is a Therapy? album released on 3 December 2016. It arrived straight after Disquiet in 2015 and just ahead of Cleave in 2018, so it sits in the later stretch of a career that began with Babyteeth in 1991 and took in Troublegum, Infernal Love and Semi-Detached along the way.
As the title hints, the record is built around wood and wire, which suggests a more stripped-back approach than the band's usual electric roar. For listeners who know the band mainly through their 1990s run, it is a chance to hear how Therapy? have kept finding new ways to present their songs well into the 2010s, and a useful companion to the louder records on either side of it.
